Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director
John F. Marino serves as Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director of Marino, a full service strategic communications firm. Together with his father, Frank Marino, John helps oversee many of the day-to-day operations of the agency.
John is a practiced communications strategist who began his career in government and community affairs more than ten years ago. With a solid understanding of how various constituencies intersect with government and business, he quickly moved through the ranks by utilizing his keen ability to create and implement multi-faceted communications programs for organizations of all kinds.
“To do what we do, you have to understand how all the dots are connected,” John says. “A complete communications program involves community affairs, government affairs, day-to-day media relations and an understanding of the business community. We have the ability to maneuver in the center of it all.”
John has established long-standing working relationships with key members of the press, influential trade groups, community organizations, and government entities. As a licensed real estate sales-person, John oversees the day-to-day and long term communications needs for some of Marino’s largest real estate, public affairs and economic development clients.
He has developed sophisticated communications campaigns in support of major accounts including Walmart, New York University, National Grid, Stellar Management, TF Cornerstone, The World-Wide Group, Cushman & Wakefield, Advertising Age, Crain’s New York Business, and many more.
On behalf of his clients, John has helped spearhead campaigns in favor of large-scale economic development projects in all five boroughs of New York City, the Catskills, and Westchester County.
Prior to joining Marino, John held positions with the Head Start Program, and Democratic National Committee (DNC). He has held volunteer positions with Hillary Clinton’s successful bid for U.S. Senate in 2000 and Andrew Cuomo’s successful bid for New York Attorney General in 2006.
A graduate of Fairfield University with a degree in political science and minor in communication, John now lives in Westchester County with his wife Kate and three children John Luke, Giuliana, and Colette.
