Robert J. Barletta

Executive Vice President

An accomplished PR executive and media relations strategist, Robert Barletta leads Marino’s consumer, food/beverage, lifestyle and nonprofit practices.

Robert joined Marino in 2000 and has a rich track record of PR success on the B-to-C front, having spearheaded high-impact campaigns for such prominent retailers as Walmart and The Home Depot.

Harboring a passion for food and wine, Robert has served such food/beverage related clients as Bono Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Castellani Wines, Toscana Promozione, Cinque Terre wine, Biagio Cru Wine & Spirits, and Pizzeria Numero 28. And he executed national launches for two wines which gained significant national acclaim: Égalité and Rosé All Day.

Robert’s nonprofit clients have included Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, Derek Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation, American Friends of Tel Aviv University, and New York Edge.  He also oversees other agency accounts such as the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater NY, Crain’s NY Business and the Garment District Alliance.

Fluent in Italian and holding dual US-Italian citizenship, Robert leads Marino’s Italian-related accounts. In this role, he helped establish a sister-city relationship between Staten Island and the Tuscan town of Crespina -- and arranged visits to America and Italy by public officials and business leaders. The initiative earned front-page attention in the New York Times and media coverage across Italy.

He also developed an international PR alliance between Marino and various partner agencies in Italy and London.

Robert’s career began in New Jersey government, first with the Mercer County Freeholder Board and then as chief of staff for state Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, now mayor of Trenton, NJ.

He holds an MS in public policy from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in history from The College of New Jersey. He is a board member of the Association of Ligurians in the World and resides in NJ with his wife Kristen and sons Luca and Matteo.
