City Council Approves Kingsbridge National Ice Center
In a historic vote on December 10th, the City Council approved the Kingsbridge National Ice Center’s $320 million proposal to transform the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx into the world’s largest ice skating facility, 48-1.
The ice center, slated to open in 2017, will include 9 indoor ice rinks and provide the community with $1.7 billion in public benefits.
“This will be a world-class destination that will…revitalize the Kingsbridge Armory and bring more resources and jobs to this part of the Bronx,” said Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
