News 12: Renovations resurrect middle-income housing

Via News 12 The Bronx on Nelson Management:

THE BRONX – Renters are lauding their landlord at the Soundview Residential Complex on Boynton Avenue for investing millions of dollars into upgrades at the formerly decrepit apartments.

Nelson Management Corp. pumped $17 million into the low- and middle-income housing complex over the past three years. Tenants must prove a total household income between $52,000 and $120,000 and have good credit.

Renovations include an on-site laundry facility, parking, expanded mailboxes and even a 24-hour doorman.

Residents say some of the upgrades are environmentally conscious. The company switched from oil to natural gas heating, installed LED lights in the hallways and installed an electric car charging station in the parking lot.
