MICHELLE FRIEDMAN JOINS THE MARINO ORGANIZATION
Former Communications Director for the New York City Coalition Against Hunger Joins Boutique Communications Firm
NEW YORK – August 24, 2015 – The Marino Organization (TMO), a full-service, boutique strategic communications firm, today announced that Michelle Friedman has joined the agency as an account director.
Friedman joins TMO with strong experience in driving successful, innovative multi-platform public relations and marketing campaigns. Most recently, she served as communications director for the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH), where she spearheaded its national media campaign to combat domestic hunger and significantly increased the organization’s national footprint through securing a wide range of top-tier media placements.
During her time at the NYCCAH, Friedman also managed the organization’s social media strategy and coordinated high-profile events, including a spring benefit honoring Chelsea Clinton, and a Thanksgiving press conference with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Friedman previously served as communications director and spokesperson for the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she managed the group’s Government Affairs Committee, executed a website re-design to modernize its digital presence, and served as editor-in-chief of all Chamber publications.
Additionally, Friedman was a press officer at the New York State Senate Majority Press Office, and a reporter, research and editorial assistant for City & State, Interview Magazine and The Chief Leader, among other publications.
A resident of Brooklyn, Friedman earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Boston University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The New School in New York City.
