Brooklyn Tech Triangle Coalition Unveils Strategic Plan to Surpass Silicon Valley

A report outlining a strategic plan for the future of Brooklyn was unveiled today by the Brooklyn Tech Triangle, a coalition comprised of the Brooklyn Navy YardDowntown Brooklyn Partnership, and the DUMBO Improvement District.  The strategy calls for enhancing workforce development, increasing affordable real estate, improving transportation and public spaces.

The Brooklyn Tech Triangle’s plan, if fully implemented, is projected to create 18,000 tech-related jobs, 43,000 indirect jobs, and up to 4 million square feet in available business space by the year 2015.

“The City has a golden opportunity in the Brooklyn Tech Triangle,” said Tucker Reed, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. “To seize it, we need to create space for tech growth and tap into our talent pools of local residents and students enrolled in the area’s 12 universities. This new strategic plan lays out specific ideas which will make the Brooklyn Tech Triangle the most attractive place for tech to set up shop and stay.”

The full report can be found here.
