Crain’s New York Business

Boosting the brand of NYC's leading local daily business publication.

The Challenge

Despite being the city's top business publication, Crain's New York Business wanted to stand out even further in the Big Apple's crowded media market and among the business and political elite.

The Solution

In an effort to "own" stories and trends, Marino devised a strategy to publicize articles appearing in Crain's among other local media outlets by releasing them over the weekend before they were available online and hit newsstands on Monday.

To further generate visibility for Crain's, and reinforce that some of the city's best and brightest write for the publication, we also set forth on a campaign to offer reporters and editors as expert sources to local and national print and electronic media on a wide range of topics including Wall Street, politics, NYC culture, real estate and economic development, nonprofits and much more.

Marino also helped create buzz around the Crain's Breakfast Forum, positioning it as "the" networking event for the city's "who's who" by helping to recruit speakers, media partners and generating news at the event.

Crain's is undoubtedly seen by industry leaders and the media alike as one of the city's top sources for business and political news, and is regularly called on to provide commentary on the news of the day. Its Breakfast Forums have also been cemented in the city's culture as the place to be for networking and hard news developments.
